Hengyi and Donghua Sign Agreement for Joint Research on Chemical Recycling Technology of Waste Textiles

On December 2, Hengyi Petrochemical Research Institute Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Zhejiang Hengyi, and East China Engineering Science and Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation Ltd., held a signing ceremony for a cooperative development agreement on "chemical recycling technology for waste textiles." This move marks the commitment of both parties to jointly tackle key industry technologies and establish an industrial pathway for the circular recycling of waste textiles. The collaboration focuses on the joint development of "chemical recycling and regeneration technology for waste textiles" and "deep processing technology for recycled waste textiles." Leveraging technological R&D as the driving force, both sides will accelerate the transformation of achievements and their demonstration applications, working together to create a full-chain solution covering recycling and high-value utilization. This initiative aims to set a benchmark for building a circular economy model in the textile industry.

Its newly established subsidiary, Hubei Hengyi Green New Materials Co., Ltd., is rapidly advancing a demonstration project with an annual output of 300,000 tons of circular new materials. This project, which plans to produce the key recycled polyester monomer BHET, is regarded as the first phase of the group's million-ton green new materials layout. This clearly demonstrates Hengyi's dual-track strategy of advancing both "technological R&D" and "industrial implementation," aimed at rapidly achieving a full industry chain closed-loop from recycling technology to end products.
