Full-Process Transparency! Specialized Recyclables Sorting Center Commences Operations in Huishan, Wuxi

According to an announcement by Yangtze Evening News, the “Ai Hui Shou · Ai Fen Lei” Huishan District Recyclables Sorting Center has officially commenced operations. This marks the district as the first in Wuxi City to establish a closed-loop “point-station-factory” processing system for recyclable household waste, achieving full-chain integration from collection, transfer, to recycling and reuse. This innovative model is set to be promoted across Wuxi City in the future.

Located at No. 6 Xishi Road, Shitangwan, Luoshe Town, Huishan District, the sorting center covers an area of 5,500 square meters and includes functional zones such as unpacking, sorting, baling, and temporary storage. On-site observations revealed that recyclables collected from the “Ai Hui Shou” smart recycling stations across Huishan’s residential communities are first automatically weighed and then sorted into over 80 categories—plastics, paper, textiles, and more—through a semi-automated manual sorting line that combines human and equipment collaboration. This approach facilitates downstream processing while effectively enhancing the added value of resources.

After sorting, these materials are compressed and baled before being directly transported to qualified recycling processing enterprises, ultimately achieving a value leap from “waste to treasure” and fulfilling the ecological goal of circular regeneration. At the site, neatly stacked bales of sorted recyclables are categorized and stored, aiding subsequent processing while maintaining workspace cleanliness.

According to the person in charge, the center has a daily sorting capacity of over 90 tons, providing strong support for the large-scale and standardized disposal of recyclables across Huishan District. Notably, recyclables collected at the source are transported in sealed bags, each bearing a unique QR code. At key stages such as loading and unloading, staff weigh and scan the bags, enabling full-process traceable management from resident drop-off to final processing. This ensures every step of the resource cycle is transparent, visible, and orderly.

In recent years, Huishan District has focused on source management in waste sorting, actively collaborating with “Ai Hui Shou · Ai Fen Lei” to deploy smart recycling equipment in towns and neighborhoods. As of 2025, the district has deployed 283 smart recycling devices, registered 84,069 users, and recycled a total of over 914 tons of various recyclables. The resident drop-off process is simplified: one-click drop-off → automatic weighing → points rebate, allowing users to easily earn rewards.
