Jinfa Technology, in collaboration with Geely Automobile and China Automotive Data, has established a joint research laboratory for sustainable materials in the automotive industry
The research and application of sustainable materials for automobiles, especially recycled materials, has become a key direction for reducing industrial carbon footprint, improving resource utilization efficiency, and enhancing international competitiveness. However, the industry still faces multiple bottlenecks, such as insufficient breakthroughs in core technologies, an incomplete closed-loop system, and poor connectivity between production, use, recycling, and regeneration. To solve the above-mentioned industry problems, Jinfa Technology is based on the development needs of the industry, constantly exploring innovative cooperation models in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, and providing key support for the green, low-carbon and circular development of the automotive industry.

Unveiling the plaque to establish a joint laboratory and building an innovation community
To systematically solve the development challenges of sustainable materials for automobiles, Jinfa Technology recently teamed up with Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. and China Automotive Data Co., Ltd. to jointly establish the "Joint Research Laboratory for Automotive Sustainable Materials". This cooperation integrates the core advantages of the three parties in the fields of vehicle research and development, automotive industry data services, and polymer material innovation. It aims to focus on technological breakthroughs, industrialization, and management system construction of sustainable materials for automotive use through "complementary advantages, collaborative innovation, and industrial empowerment".
The Joint Research Laboratory for Sustainable Materials in Automobiles will provide a key bridge for the development and industrial application of sustainable materials for automobiles. Next, the Joint Research Laboratory will continue to promote the transformation and industrialization of sustainable materials technology achievements in the automotive industry, deepen the construction of a closed-loop ecological synergy mechanism for automotive materials, strengthen domestic and foreign industry exchanges and technological cooperation, provide a "Chinese solution" for improving the application level of sustainable materials in China's automotive industry and promoting the green and low-carbon development of the global automotive industry, and help China's automotive industry seize the green high ground in the new round of global competition.

Three major focuses: laboratory driven industrial green transformation
The Joint Research Laboratory will focus on three major directions: breakthroughs in anchoring technology, ecological construction, and standardized leadership. The following tasks will be promoted:
One is to tackle the core technology of sustainable materials for vehicles. Focusing on key areas such as recycled materials, lightweight materials, and low-carbon material applications, we will integrate laboratory resources to carry out technological breakthroughs, optimize molding process parameters, construct a full process life cycle assessment system and carbon footprint accounting model, break through technical bottlenecks in multiple scenarios, and provide solid technical support for industrial development.
The second is to build a closed-loop ecological system for automotive materials. Efforts will be made to coordinate the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, promote the integration of recyclable design concepts into the new car research and development stage, establish a traceability and quality grading system for recycled materials, improve the industrial collaboration mechanism, and open up the closed-loop chain of "retired cars - material recycling - recycled materials - new car applications" to enhance the efficiency of resource closed-loop recycling.
The third is to improve the traceability and management system of sustainable materials for automobiles. Jointly build a full process quality traceability platform and shared database to achieve full chain traceability of recycled material sources, production processes, testing data, component applications, and recycling flows. At the same time, integrate key information such as industry technical parameters, application cases, and low-carbon benefits to provide data support for automotive companies' material selection, promote industrial data interconnection and efficient resource sharing; Based on technological research results, develop technical guidelines and quality standards related to automotive recycled materials; Regularly review the practical experience of industrial development, form policy recommendation reports, provide important references for the country to improve industrial policies and regulate market order, and lead the standardized development of industries.

Dual wheel drive of policy and finance, consolidating the foundation of development
The vision of the joint laboratory is highly aligned with the national policy orientation.
In the second review draft of the "Draft Ecological Environment Code · Green and Low Carbon Development" released in September this year, Article 987 clearly states: "The state encourages the promotion and application of recycled materials, promotes the establishment of a certification system for recycled materials, and supports manufacturers of automobiles, electrical and electronic products to increase the proportion of recycled materials used." This provides a solid policy expectation and legal guarantee for the development of the industry.
At the same time, financial support has injected strong momentum into circular economy projects. On October 22nd, at a special seminar on financial support for the development of circular economy held in Guangzhou, Guangzhou Rural Commercial Bank and Jinfa Technology signed a credit agreement worth 1.5 billion yuan. The funds will be specifically used to pay for the construction costs of the pilot plant project of Jinfa Technology, and to supplement the daily operating funds of the enterprise and its subsidiaries, directly helping them deepen the research and industrial application of plastic recycling technology.

Jinfa Technology has achieved fruitful results in automotive plastics
Jinfa Technology's technological strength in the field of plastic recycling has been validated by the market. The project of "Integrated Technology and Industrial Application for Upgrading and Reusing Waste and Miscellaneous Plastics" won the first prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, successfully connecting the three key links of "sorting cleaning reuse". The company collaborates with globally renowned brands such as Unilever and Lenovo to widely apply high-performance recycled plastics in various fields such as packaging, automotive, and electronics.
In the field of automotive materials, Jinfa Technology's performance in the first half of 2025 was impressive:
- The global sales of automotive materials reached 560300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 21.54%, demonstrating strong market demand.
- The company has deeply explored the domestic market and achieved a breakthrough in the material usage of 100KG per bicycle for well-known new energy vehicle brands in China.
- Technological innovation continues to lead, and transparent PP materials are more widely used in new energy vehicle components; The low-carbon and environmentally friendly PP material developed has become the first global standard developed by China for automotive cooling systems, with a carbon reduction rate of up to 40%.
- By establishing a research and development center in Vietnam and launching an automotive materials factory, the company has built a global collaborative platform, resulting in a year-on-year increase of over 50% in overseas sales of automotive materials in the first half of the year.
